“If you help others, you will be helped, perhaps tomorrow, perhaps in one thousand years, but you will be helped. Nature must pay off the debt. It is a mathematical law and all life is mathematics. ”

G L Gurdjieff

The Law of Compensation answers the common questions asked by nearly every human who has ever lived long enough to ask.  What will I get? How much of it will I get? And how fast can I get it? And though, The Law of Compensation answers these questions, focusing on only this aspect will leave you short changed.

What is the Law of Compensation?

law of compensation states that you will be compensated for your actions. This works with the Law of Cause and Effect (as an extension of the effects).  The compensation can sometimes result in money, but more often not.  This is where most people get confused about this law.  Sure, compensation will sometimes come in the form of money, but often it is a situation that could end up costing you money, or a door could open that leads to a money opportunity.  The Law of Attraction could also be working in the background with this divine law.

In his essay “compensation”, Ralph Waldo Emerson said: “Each person is compensated in like manner for that which he or she has contributed.”  Then he says “The whole of what we know, is a system of compensations. Ever defect in one manner is made up in another. Every suffering is rewarded; every sacrifice is made up. Every debt is paid.”

You will get compensated something – whether positive or negative is up to you.

  • Spread happiness, and happiness will be returned to you.
  • Spread hate, and more hate will be returned to you.
  • Spread wealth, and more wealth will be returned to you.
  • Spread love, and more love will be returned to you.

What you are getting compensated with in your life right now, is what you are throwing out. It works like this every single time.

Increase Your Value

The Law of Compensation also says that you can never be compensated in the long term for more than you put in. What you earn today is your compensation for what you have done in the past.  To increase your compensation, you must increase the value of your contribution.

fill your mind with ideas, thoughts, and visions of success, happiness and optimism, and you will be compensated by positive experiences in your daily activities.  Your mental attitude and feelings also play a huge role too.

Do More Than You’re Paid For

Give more and you will receive more.  Your thoughts, emotions, actions and words play a big role here.  If your mindset is pointing you in the wrong direction, you may want to reprogram your thinking.  You cannot trick divine laws, but you can trick your mind.  Affirmations are a good way of doing this.  Auto Suggestion is a method that American self-help author, Napoleon Hill talks about in his best-selling book: Think and Grow Rich.  Put more time into the details than someone just trying to make a buck. The more time you put into it, the more you will be able to give and receive from the universe. People violate this law and don’t even know it.

Don’t Cheat Others

Do you have a something-for-nothing-mentality? This law will make that a problem for you. Have you ever taken something you should have paid for? It could come back in ways of misfortune. The universe has its ways of getting even, and there is no use running from these laws, as they are everywhere you go to hide! The next fine or ticket you have to pay, the next time your car breaks down, the next expensive end result you face … think about the Law of Compensation.
